Why What You Wear Matters
Clothing is more than fabric stitched together. It's identity. It's expression. It's what we choose to carry with us into our everyday lives.
At Dash Designs, what we wear matters for two reasons: faith and stewardship.
Faith You Can Live In
Faith isn't just something we practice on Sundays. It's something we carry into workouts, errands, conversations, and quiet moments.
When you wear something that reflects your beliefs — even subtly — it becomes a reminder.
A reminder of strength.
A reminder of courage.
A reminder to choose faith over fear.
That's the heart behind every design we create.
The Part Most People Don't Talk About: Toxic Clothing
Here's something that often surprises people.
Many conventional garments are treated with chemicals like:
• Formaldehyde
• PFAS (often called "forever chemicals")
• Synthetic dye residues
• Harsh finishing treatments
And we place these fabrics directly against our skin every day.
Our skin is our largest organ. What touches it matters.
That's why Dash Designs is committed to using non-toxic, responsibly sourced materials whenever possible. It's not just about style — it's about health, integrity, and awareness.

Toxic Chemicals in Clothing: Key Hazards and Risks
- Flame Retardants: Used in children's clothing and furniture; linked to infertility, neurotoxicity, endocrine disruption, and cancer due to bioaccumulation.
- PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances): Found in water- and stain-resistant fabrics (e.g., Gore-Tex, Scotchgard); known as "forever chemicals" — persistent, carcinogenic, and bioaccumulative.
- Synthetic Dyes: Make up 60–70% of fabric colorants; break down into carcinogenic aromatic amines, causing skin allergies, dermatitis, and cancer risk — especially in black and brown garments.
- Heavy Metals (Lead, Chromium, Cadmium): Used as dye stabilizers; can cause reproductive issues, organ damage, and environmental pollution; found in vibrant synthetic clothing.
- Phthalates: Plasticizers in activewear, printing inks, and faux leather; endocrine disruptors linked to reproductive harm and developmental issues.
- Chlorine Bleach & Solvents: Used in cotton processing and dye preparation; cause respiratory problems, skin irritation, and are toxic by inhalation or contact.
- Formaldehyde: Used for wrinkle-free finishes and shrinkage prevention; a known carcinogen and VOC that off-gases, causing eye, skin, and respiratory irritation.
- NPEs (Nonylphenol Ethoxylates): Persistent detergents in textile manufacturing; break down into hormone-disrupting chemicals, toxic to wildlife and linked to birth defects and reproductive harm.

Purpose in Every Detail
We believe clothing can do more than look good.
It can:
• Reflect your values
• Protect your health
• Encourage your spirit
• Start meaningful conversations
When you put on a Dash Designs piece, our hope is that you feel confident, comfortable, and grounded in purpose.
This Is Just the Beginning
We're starting with carefully selected, high-quality pieces — and building toward a fully custom line made intentionally from the ground up.
Because faith and intention deserve more than fast fashion.
If you believe what you wear should reflect what you stand for, you're in the right place.
